His Eye Is On The...

There are times when discouragement tries to settle into my spirit, especially on those days when I don't feel well in my body. There are days when I get overly anxious and concerned about various circumstances that may arise and cause me to become distracted and take my focus away from the Lord. It's during these times that I will reach over and open my bible and begin to read these words from Matthew 6:26, and Matthew 10:29-31. Here the Lord speaks and ministers to my soul, spirit, and heart.

Look at the birds of the air; they neither sow nor reap nor store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground outside your Father's care. And even all the very hairs of your head are all numbered. So do not be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.

In 1905, Dr. Martin and his wife Civilla befriended a couple by the name of Mr. and Mrs. Doolittle true saints of God. Mrs. Doolittle had been bedridden for about twenty years; her husband was an incurable cripple who had to propel himself to and from his business in a wheel chair. Despite their afflictions they lived a happy Christian life bringing inspiration, and comfort, to all who knew them.

When Dr. Martin asked them about their bright hopefulness, and what their secret was, Mrs. Doolittle's reply was simple: "His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me. The beauty of this simple expression of boundless faith gripped the hearts and fired the imagination of Dr. Martin and his wife. The hymn "His Eye Is on the Sparrow" was the outcome of that experience.

This is one of my favorite old hymns, it never fails to inspire, uplift, and encourage me. It brings a sense of peace, comfort, and hope, back into my spirit. I am reminded once again of how my Father lovingly watches over me each day. May it encourage and inspire you as well today, no matter what you may be facing or going through, or how hopeless a situation may seem, always know that his eye is on the sparrow, and he watches over you.

Thanks for those words of encouragement my sister. I've been trying to say hello for a few days now. My computer was acting up. Even in the middle of this comment it's doing some kind of thing. So how are you? How did it go at the men's camp? Pick up anything?(Smile) Have a blessed day.

Blessings Sistah Lorie, It is when we are going through the darkness that we some way some how find the light and then HOPE AWAKENS and we just know in our knower that all is well. Seeing with our natural eyes sometimes has blinded me from the spiritual gifts hidden inside. I do enjoy your blog and all that you are giving back to give Father the glory. Growing In Him For We Are Worthy brings Him such joy but it is our FAITH that really makes Him dance, sing and smile I feel. Hallelujah!! Praising My Lord as I am forever grateful. Thanks so much for your blog and I am so thrilled you are continuing to do it for what a Powerful life changing difference you make. Love Always, rilda *U*

Lorie,
I think we all, as part of human nature (flaw) worry. I took reflect on God's instructions to not worry. One, because it does NO good and two, because it shows a lack of trust. If you look at my previous posts, I blogged on this. I think it was called "Worthy of Trust". Anyway, they say if we worry, then we are not trusting. If we are trusting then we have no reason to worry. Heck, I wrote it and I can't remember now how I worded it. I'll have to look at my own blog to verify my words used.

Anyway, we really don't have a need or purpose in worrying. It will NOT change anything except it WILL change us if we trust instead of worry.

Isn't it awesome to be a servant of God and to know our Father is ALWAYS with us. Praise sweet Jesus.

Hope you are still visiting my blog.
Lovessss,
Paula

Hi Lorie!
I saw that you joined the prayer team at Beloved Mama's blog and wanted to ask if you could pray for the following family:

http://familymctravels.blogspot.com/

I do not know them personally, but have been reading their blog and praying myself. I'd love for others to lift them up as well. In a nut shell, both of their children (4 and 2 yrs old) were recently diagnosed with a very rare disease that causes much deterioration physically and leads to VERY early death. Within the next few years they will lose both of their children.

They need all the prayer they can get.
