My Life Is In Your Hands

This morning, I just wanted to give God thanks for allowing me to be used as a vessel for his glory. I know that I was created out of his love, and to fulfill the purpose and plans he had for my life, since I was born.

The many trials and tribulations, mountains, valleys, storms, and afflictions I have had to face has indeed humbled me, given me courage, strength, and most of all hope.

I remember crying out to the Lord, when I was diagnosed with a life threatening illness, I said Lord, I have been serving you faithfully why would you allow this to happen.

I still remember these words he spoke into my spirit… My daughter I can use you even more to fulfill my purpose during your affliction. It is not for you to know why, or to understand it all at this moment, just know that your life will forever be in my loving hands. I have never questioned him about it since that day, I trust that one day he will reveal it all to me in his time.

My Life Is In Your Hands

You held not only my life, but my heart in your hands
Lord, not just a little part of me, but all that I am.
You knew me; formed me, and called me by name
You had plans for me, and my life you claimed.

You held my tiny heart, ever so gently and with care
I was safe in your hands, you were always there.
While within my mother’s womb, safe and warm
Her heartbeat played, such a beautiful love song.

In the depth of darkness, Lord you never left my side
As I entered into the light, you heard my first cry.
I was given life to serve you, here on this earth
You have given me a purpose, and given me worth.

Lord, you had plans for me, you touched my lips
To share with others, the words you would speak.
You anointed my hands to write everlasting psalms
Poetry to encourage, and uplift your precious ones.

In the midnight hours, you fill my soul with songs
Words of healing and hope, that makes a spirit strong.
Songs that would help a broken soul to understand
Your mercy, and your grace, and Love that never ends.

You still hold my life and my heart in your hands
Through each journey, you’ve helped me to stand.
You have been by my side, right from the start.
Lord,I will always be, a woman after your heart.

What beautiful words.Thank you for sharing your gift with us.

My mother died tragically in 2003 and I didn't understand why. But as I cried out to the Lord days later, He said this to me "It's not for you to understand, I AM the Creator and you are the creation".

What awesome faith. Your testimony is an inspiration. The strength of your words spoke to me when I read "I have never questioned him about it since that day."

Thanks for writing this. I pray the rest of your Sunday is wonderful.

Thank you for trusting God and letting Him use you to touch so many others. We are all placed on this earth for a time and a purpose. We have to trust God with both.

That is beautiful Lorie. We definitely only see in part. I have some "why" questions too, but no matter what -- nothing can separate us from the love of God.

Bless you dear!

Lorie, thanks for sharing this post and poem. This is great post. I share your sentiment. God has a purpose for our life no matter what He allows us to go through. He can still use us despite our chronic illnesses and weaknesses. He can use us to comfort others with the same comfort He has comforted us. May God continue to grant you much joy and strength as you walk with Him and serve Him. Hugs, Nancie

This is beatiful Lori. It's so amazing to me, that you questioned GOD. In reading your post and growing in Christ w/you, I am touched that you shared that. I have this incredible freedom inside of me that allows me to TRUST in HIM and I'm wondering if I'm being niave because I have yet to suffer since becoming saved. I guess HE will be sending me something that will soon test my faith?????

Love for a great week!

So sorry for your loss [dad]...My dad passed away, too almost 2 years ago. After a few years when my mom died, he was in that great loneliness that drove him to give his heart to the Lord. I'm thankful we have a God Who turns around everything into good! Praise Him! Thank you for your visit and follow. Have a great week sister!

This is so hard of a concept to understand.

Just yesterday my Pastor spoke about Lazarus... he noted the disappointment Lazarus' sisters had... additionally, he spoke about how Jesus used an afflicting occasion to REVEAL himself more as the Son of God.

One of the youth leaders from my church wrote about the message: Tabby - Reaching

Thanks for sharing those wonderful words.

It is amazing how God can use the hard things in life to help us grow. Sorrow is many times our best companion, in whom we learn the most from.

Lori - I felt compelled to share these thoughts with you. May you hear what God wants you to hear.

God works in many ways and I feel that it is His desire that we seek out the whys - for He desires for us to know Him. It can be moments or years of seeking & listening because the knowing is a journey. But seeking opens and prepares our hearts to hear His voice.

There have been various afflictions in my life. For years I tried external remedies - but now I come to God and seek - what is going on? And I keep seeking until I understand. Often it takes time because the external points to something much deeper. And often we aren't ready to hear what He will say. But when we start seeking He starts us on the journey to knowing. He peels back the layers as we attend, wait and seek. I know that if I continue to seek He will show me – and He always has. For me my afflictions were manifestations of pains so deep I didn't even now they existed, things that distanced me from Him. But as I sought one-on-one in His Word and waited He revealed and healed the depths of my soul and the external affliction that made me ask why in the first place.

Everything in our life is to draw us nearer to Him in truth and love. He wants us to know the truth deep in our souls. Psalm 51:6 "Behold, You desire truth in the inward parts, And in the hidden part You will make me to know wisdom."

God is a God who heals.

Psalm 119:71 "It is good for me that I have been afflicted, That I may learn Your statutes."

Psalm 119:75 "I know, O Lord, that Your judgments are right, And that in faithfulness You have afflicted me."

Love,

Rachel

Thanks, Lorie, for sharing this. It is a great comfort that our life is in our Lord's hands. No matter what He allows us to go through, He has a purpose for it and He is with us in it and through it.

He works all things for His glory and our good. And often through the difficult times we go through, we know His love in many wonderful ways and His grace to be sufficient for us.

May you continue to know His love and mercies in many wonderful ways daily.

With hugs and prayers,
Nancie

I am so thankful for all of you and the way you share your hearts of encouragement when you come to visit. We can always rest in the assurance that even though the winds and storms of life come our way, we can safely abide in the hallow of God's hands. We can find shelter from a world filled with so much uncertainty. Yet one thing we know for sure is that no matter what happens, our lives will forever be in his hands.
