Usable

I often wonder to what extent
You will consider me usable.
The different phases and stages
Of my life as a woman after your
Heart has been such an awesome journey.

Once again I begin a new phase
I find myself not just older but
Some what seasoned, and filled
With wisdom to know when it is
Time to move on, to prepare for
A different kind of journey with you.

There were times when I really felt
Useless, unusable, unnecessary,
Sometimes unworthy of all the tasks
You wanted me to complete.
There were moments when self got in
The way, and I had to learn how to
Die to self because it was about you

I don’t know exactly how things

Will change, what new tasks you
Have prepared for me to fulfill.
But as long as I am still usable I
Will continue to trust and obey you.
I will listen to my heart and be
Lead by your precious Holy Spirit.

Lord, sometimes I wonder if

My health will affect my calling.

You whispered ever so sweetly to

My trembling heart… If you let me
I will use you even more because
Of it and make It the most valuable
Experience of your entire life.

Yes Lord. I will let you!

What a blessing to have you as my bloggy friend! Your words forces me to take stock in my own life and see if it lines up with God and His perfect will. In other words, I must ask God am I usable, and if not, what can I do to make it right.

Thank you so much for blessing me so with all your lovely posts to read and the footprints you leave on my heart through my comments. I do pray you are doing well.

May God richly bless you today and every day! *huge hugs*

I am always uplifted by the beautiful words you share with us each week. I can certainly identify with today's post. My life changed pretty radically when my husband retired from the ministry. It took us a while to adjust but now as we are older we see how God is using us in new ways. I'm thankful he is using me to co-host the Spiritual Sundays blog. I believe it is a blessing to a lot of people, but no one more than it is to me.
Blessings,
Charlotte

Excellent post. It's going to take more than one reading for me on this one. I will come back and think through it again. Thank you for writing.

I think we all go through that moment when we analyze our value in serving the Lord. But one thing is for sure, He is faithful to complete what He started in each of us. This is beautiful. God bless sister and may you have a wonderful week!

I have enjoyed visiting your blog...this post speaks so much...I think later in life we realize there may not be much usability to us....but GOD!!! Thanks for sharing these words from your heart.

Thank you for sharing your most intimate thoughts & feelings with us, Sistah. Your willingness to be transparent blesses each one of us in such a personal way. Self examination is in order after reading such words.
I thank you for being such a willing vessel for the Lord.
Hugs & Blessings ~

Lori, I have felt a lot of those same things and somehow, with God's help, manage to hang in there to find what God has in store makes whatever feelings of "UN" anything are forgotten when I see what God has for me.

Dear Lorie,
You never cease to be a blessing to us! I, like Charlotte, felt like I had been set on the shelf after my hubby and I retired from the Ministry. It took a while to make sense of how I was feeling. But slowly, I began to see that He wanted me to rest a while before opening another door. Today, we are still ministering, but in another way. Thank you for sharing your heart once again. I hope you are enjoying better health these days, dear friend. Have a beautiful week.

Blessings,
Sandi

Beautiful words . . reminds me of

2 Corinthians 1:4 who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.

We feel lack in our abilities, strength, and resources so that it is His power that is shown in us that He may be glorified and not us. And when we realize our lack then we are able to be truly filled.

Don't we all have those pensive moments of doubt? You are useable and He will use you in His own way. What a beautiful blog entry once again!
