A Taste Of Heaven

God sends his blessings from above
Heavenly gifts filled with his love.
Treasures from glory, deeply profound
A taste of heaven, flowing down.

Filling us with his amazing grace
As we seek him face to face.
His presence felt deep inside
A taste of heaven he provides.

Our daily bread he supplies
Let all his creations testify.
Lifting our praises unto him
A taste of heavens offering.

We have tasted heavens glory
We magnify and lift his name.
We have tasted of his goodness
And we will never be the same.

I think when the Lord created the islands of Hawaii, he was giving us just a tiny glimpse and "Taste of Heaven."

Those photos are beautiful. Hawaii is a place I hope to visit someday. I did sort of visit once. I spent about 2 hours sitting in a transit lounge, when enroute from New Zealand to the US mainland.

Great tour!! You look so pretty decked in those flowers.

I'm so glad I looked at your blog early this morning. My day will be so much better because of it. I read down thru a few post. I'll be praying for you as you minister at the retreat. I know God is using you in a great way for such a time as this. Your poetry is beautiful. I loved the Isaiah scriptures. I'm studing Isaiah right now so I was excited to see it. Thank you Debbie (BATW) for flying us to Joyfulsister's home today.

Mahalo! I hope I spelled that right - I haven't ever been to Hawaii yet but it is my dream vacation spot, so someday, I will get there!

Thanks for the virtual tour - I could practically smell the gorgeous flowers!! :) And macadamia nuts instead of peanuts on the plane? WOO-HOO!!

Cheers from chilly, rainy upstate NY!

I LOVE Hawaii! My husband took me last year for our anniversary. I had never had any desire to go to Hawaii (not a huge water lover), but boy was I wrong. BEAUTIFUL place and addicting. I want to go back RIGHT NOW. Thank you for sharing. (Hi, from Idaho.)

What a treat! Hawaii is one of my favorite places. I've been once with my Grandma when I graduated college and twice more with my husband. (Its much more fun with him) You are so right about the Aloha spirit! I feel peaceful and relaxed while I'm there like no other place. I'm pretty sure Hawaii is God's "rough draft" of what Heaven will be :)

Loved your post and the tour of Hawaii with the post cards. My youngest daughter and her husband did a cruise that went to Hawaii and they throughly enjoyed it.

You are getting your blog back up. Just a suggestion - I lost my blog about the same way you did - just disappeared. I had saved it to My Documents on the hard drive the day before but did not save the older posts. This time I have saved both. It makes it so much easier to restart.
God bless my wonderful sistah!

Your post and the pictures took me back in time nearly 35 years ago, Lorie. My folks took me to Hawaii after my high school graduation. My dad's sister and brother-in-law lived there at the time, in a condo right across the street from Waikiki beach.

They took us to see so many beautiful sights, and I remember how friendly and accepting the islanders were, everywhere we went. And the food we ate! It was all just as you described it. I hope to return some day with my husband.

Thanks so much for sharing the beauty of this state!!

I have a friend who lived in Hawaii for almost 9 years--she and her husband and 3 other couples owned a carnation plantation. They loved it there, but had to come back to PA to care for aging parents and never returned.

I'm SOOOOO happy that you found me so that I could in turn find your beautiful site.
I will pray for your health, so many times it is what God uses, (our good health or lack of it) to keep our eyes focused tightly on Him. My husband was a Firefighter who contracted a rare lung disease. In Nov. it will be his 3rd year as a person who received a right lung transplant. He's had 4 rejection episodes...Have you read Streams in the Desert? I keep that and my Bible with me. I'd like to leave this verse with you, Joshua 1:9. I hold on to it, memorize it, keep it written everywhere... for when I am afraid.
Blessings and Aloha to you dear friend,
Pam

Hi again. I made a comment on another post, but came back because I forgot to comment on your comments about our trip to Hawaii. Wow it must be great to live there. The slide pictures are great. We have lots of pictures from there. This was our second trip. We went in 1987. We went on a luau the first time we went. Of course we went to the Arizona Memorial again. Would love to go back, but we don't have any plans to do so. I have a feeling we may never get back there. Unless -- maybe our kids will take us there for our 75th anniversary. haha.
