Lost In Life

Isaiah 30:15.. In Quietness and Confidence is your Strength.

Somewhere in life, I lost myself
Always taking care of everyone else.
Just a woman, amongst the living
No time for me, just giving, and giving.

My spirit ended up in a dry desert place
My soul felt empty, just taking up space.
I aimlessly wandered, into the land of the lost
Not making time for me, this was the cost.

I thought to myself, am I just existing
Does anyone care, is anyone listening.
It seems like I just disappeared one day
Pieces of me slowly drifted away.

My undernourished spirit and soul
Needed to be fed and made whole.
In everything that you may do…
Never forget to make time for you

My Prayer Today...
Dear Lord, I know the world sees strength in action, but in your kingdom it is known that strength lies in quietness. Thank you for this precious promise, one of such glorious fulfilment! Let your strength of peace, and the peace of your strength, rest in me, Joy in me, live in me... Amen

I would say that this poem probably speaks to the hearts of many women. I know that i was once in that place and had to learn to make time for me and the Lord. Resting in Him for me and for His glory! God had to show me that my giving and loving others was good but i was forgetting my first Love which was He and me together! What a truth! an awesome poem!

I so wish that all the so called important people at my place of employment would read this. I find it hard to take time for me because if they had it their way, I'd never go home. Most days my energy is depleted and I have just enough strength to pray. I heard through the grapevine that I may be getting some help in the next couple of weeks. "Love this poem, thanks for reminding me that there is a "me" inside of "me"

Love and hugs

Blessings Sistah, Finding self is knowing thyself with all the flaws and all. May this truth set thee free to be who you are created to be as you Be STILL and Know God. For His kingdom is within. Love You, rilda *U*

I truly enjoyed the poem,I think we as Christian Women can relate to this,we are so busy trying to be a good servant for the Lord that we lose site of ourselves

I think this is something many woman experience. Thanks for sharing your heart and encouraging the rest of us. Interestingly when we take time for ourselves to rest, we are better for everyone else. It is the greatest gift we can give others.

Yes yes yes to your heartfelt poem.

It is in those times where I felt no one noticed that I desparately sought Him. Now in my new widowhood I already KNOW Him. From this viewpoint I can say like Paul, "I'm thankful in all things..." Only in the pain would I have cried out for Him as a young woman; now as an older woman I know Him well and He is life to me. I have joy although I am alone in my home but not lonely. I could never have ijmagined how He so perfectly provides the main things in my life. Oh how He understands and loves us.

Thank you my sistah's, I know we as women can relate to this poem each in our own way. The Lord truly wants us to be well not just in the physical but spiritual as well. We give so much, because we love much, and part of the balance is to love ourselves enough to always take some time so we can rest, be restored, and refreshed, as we seek the Lord in word, and prayer .

What a great poem and so true. I've heard it said that if we don't love ourself we can't love anyone else. If we love ourself we will take care of and even pamper ourselves a little. Thanks for the inspiration.

I love the Sistah award. I received it about a week ago from someone else, but I'm happy to receive it from the creator of the award. Thank you.

I'd love tp be included in the giveaway.

God has called me to a season of rest; I've had to cut back on a great many things just to catch up.

Your poem speaks so beautifully about the emptiness we feel at different times in our lives for different reasons.

I pray you find God's Peace for the journey each and every day. Thanks for visiting the blog. You are always welcome there.

I just found your blog this morning and you have encouraged my heart. I have learned to take some time for myself, but it wasn't an easy lesson. As I accepted invitations to go with a friend for a girls day out, I returned feeling refreshed because I had FUN.My husband soon found that when I got to get out for a little bit and nurture my spirit, I was a better wife to him and a better Mom to my children, and it is okay to give ourselves permission to do that.If we can't take care of what God has blessed us with because we are so stressed, than we aren't a help to anyone. Thank you for reminding me that what we give from our hearts is our prayer to God, and I am so thankful for His love in my life. He makes my heart sing:)
