Well, I sat down last evening for my first quiet time session. It lasted about five minutes. I found it very difficult to stop myself from thinking about other things and keep my focus on just the Lord. But is was good, refreshing, peaceful through and through.
I followed my time of silence with reading God's word intermixed with prayerful utterances as I fell led.
It is amazing the things God reveals when we take the time to listen for His whisper!
Those are great spirtual words you used, all that I pray for and try to do. I am praying for you, I hope you are feeling better. I had the flu for 2 weeks now and today I finally feel relief, Praise God. Blessings my Friend Sharon
Hi Lorie! Happy New Year friend! Thank you for the reminder to be still and know that He is God. I love the song "Be still and Know." Evan and I had this song sung during the unity candle at our wedding over five years ago. I may have to post this youtube video on my blog soon!
Thank you also for the songs that you have playing on your playlist. I just spent some time worshipping!!! Hope you have a great day!
Amen and amen! God is on the move in His people...thank you for being a part of that marvelous movement...thank you for listening to His voice and acting upon His direction. God is so good, so faithful...praise His Holy name!
Oh how I've missed your poetical devotions. Thats what they are to me anyway. I was away from my computer a lot in Dec and the I guess yours crashed so it has been a while. Hope you had a wonderful Christmas and may your new year be blessed.
My parents are in Kauai (sp?) right now... until Sunday. I should send them to your church. :-)
Yes, I need to be still.. even though I am mostly immobile, I am always "busy"... I need to be still more often... That is one of my goals this year... to be with Him more and In Him more...
Lorie, You are a special person that God is using to help all of us. I need to start spending more quiet time with the Lord. Why is it so hard - I do it one day and then the next day before I know it I'm involved in something else. I want so much to hear that "still small voice" and I know what I have to do to hear it. I really need your prayers. You are a wonderful encourager. When I talk to my friends about the blogging I always have to tell them about you. Thanks for being my friend in Christ, Luv u, AliceE.
P.S. I know that one of your gifts from the Lord is the gift of encouragement, could I please ask you to go visit my friend, Mrs. Ruiz at Still Learning http://avereenie.blogspot.com/ Thank you sister!
Hi Lorie! Being still before the Lord is something we all need to be reminded to do. It's so easy in the busyness of life to let that slide. Thanks for the great reminders, your posts are so beautiful and timely. Love, Velvia P.S. Hurray for your new laptop!!
Im so glad you back Lori. I love reading your blog, you always inspire me. Thank you for always thinking of me. I do believe this is my yr for happiness and victory.
I read your poem last night and today you put a comment on my blog. Thanks for your encouragement. It's so good to see your face again. I really missed you. I'm doing okay. I got behind yesterday and am trying to catch up today with emails and other things. I've got to just stop and spend some time with God. I read the devotions I get and posts on bloggers I like to read and a thought goes through my mind that I've done my time with God by reading on here but I know that's not enough. I heard on the 700 Club yesterday that they are posting a devotion each day and at the end of the year you will have read through the entire Bible. I'm going to start with that but then I know I've got to just sit down, be still and listen to what God has to say. Thanks for your prayers, AliceE. PS And I'm praying for you.
Hey Lorie! I loved this poem and I needed it today too. I am working really hard trying to organize my time with a schedule to fit everything in and still have quiet time. It is a struggle some days to make it all work out.
Thanks again...I really needed that. I love your poetic talent...so refreshing!

HOPE stands out from your post to me today Lorie. As I listen to the news and all the horrors that are happening around the globe,... we have HOPE "STILL."
Ah...yes, be still and KNOW God is God. I have missed you when you had computer issues, then I had my own problems.
I'm digging into hearing God...and first of all is to quiet myself, get still and know that God is my all. I love your photo and your music and your prose. Thank you for this moment of beauty and stillness and yes, peace.
