High Places

The Lord is my strength, and he will make my feet like hinds feet, and he will make me walk upon mine high places. Habakkuk 3:19

             High Places

Lord, how I long to be led to new heights
To let loose, and be free, let my spirit take flight.
Up to the high places of victory, joy, and love
A spiritual journey to experience from above.

As I climb each mount, each difficult place
Every conflict, obstacle and test, I may face.
I will not be afraid; I know my shepherd is near
With his strength I shall leap as a graceful deer.

As I travel up,  I shall lay down all of my will
I will pray, I will listen, I will stop, and be still.
It's not the destination. it's the journey you see..
up to the high places Lord, just you and me.

I desire to follow him, to learn victorious living
To experience the high places with thanksgiving.
To be transformed, to become more like him
Up to the high places is where our journey begins.

My dear Lorie,
I'm sorry you are still not well and I will continue to pray for you. I have read Hinds Feet on High Places several times. I reread it not that long ago and I always glean something new from it. When one is not well, I find the story gives one new courage and a new insight into God's plan for one's life. It has been a difficult year for me too. Thank you for sharing your wonderful poem. As always, I love to come and visit with you, my sistah! Take care and I'll be thinking of you.

Blessings and hugs from another Island,
Sandi

That book was a life-changer for me about 30 years ago, and I have read it many times since. If ever there was a cross roads, that was one for me. Sorry I haven't been around, but I'm catching up and so glad I came by this morning. I needed to read your poems!!!!!! Cora
