An Ornament For Jesus

Oh the little girl comes out in me
When I look under the Christmas tree.
All the colorful ribbons and bows
Colorful ornaments and lights all aglow.

Gifts wrapped so neatly a name on each one
But the meaning of Christmas is Jesus God’s son.
He is the most wonderful gift of all you see
He was given to us so we all could be free.

I wonder what he would want me to be
If I were an ornament on his Christmas tree.
Would I be an ornament of Joy or Peace
Or an ornament of Love that never will cease.

An ornament of Hope and of Tenderness
Or one of Patience, Goodness, and full of Forgiveness.
An ornament of Kindness or of Self Control
An ornament of Strength for a weary soul.

Lord this is my Christmas prayer…
That I would be an ornament that
Brings you glory so people can see.
Your reflection shining so brightly
When they look at me.

The poem is beautiful, my Sistah. I wonder what kind of ornament I would be on Jesus' tree. My Christmas blog is up. Come and visit.

What a wonderful way to stop and think--am I living a life that shows the beauty of Jesus, His traits, His love.

What ornament am I?

I am so thankful that through blogging we have met you! You give us such beautiful poems and so much to think about through each one.

If I could chose what I would wish to be as an ornament, I think I would want to be an ornament in the shape of a star. A star led the wise men to Christ and it would also be a reminder that even though there are billions of stars, God has given each one a name. . . and each one of us is loved with an everlasting love.
