Pencil Of Life

I will always look at a new day as a way for me to begin again. At night when I have given the days cares and concerns to the Lord in prayer, the curtain of darkness closes and the night sky becomes like a giant eraser wiping my slate clean.

I can wake up each morning to a clean slate, a new beginning, a second chance to try again once more. The pencil of life is put in my hand and I can decide what changes, choices, or attitude I will take on for the day, or how I will respond or react to situations I will encounter.

The pencil signifies the free will that is given to me each day by the Lord. I have experienced a wonderful journey of self discovery this past year, I like who I have become, and the pencil of God's free will in my hand moves now with more awareness, more thoughtfulness, and with more appreciation

My eyes have been opened to the wonder of everyday miracles, and the importance of making the best of each day, even when things don't always happen the way I want it to. I realize that there is a reason for everything that happens, and that there will not always be an answer to why.

I Pray that I will use my pencil of life wisely each day, the eraser at the end of my pencil is always a reminder from the Lord that mistakes will be made along this journey of life.

He uses the erasers of forgiveness and grace at the end of my day, and when I awake a brand new pencil filled with his mercy awaits me in the morning. How will you use your pencil of life today?

I like your take on life. Each day is new and yes, we do choose how we respond or react. The part I am most thankful for is that eraser. Praise God for His mercies each day.

What a great analogy. I don't know if I will ever look at a pencil the same way again :)

I agree you have a wonderful outlook on life and are so willing to share your heart with everyone. I'm at a standstill. I'm not sure how God wants to use my blog to further His kingdom. I'm not a writer but I'm open to whatever He has planned. This episode in my life with the Vertigo has thrown me a little, but I'm beginning to see the light at the end of the tunnel.
May God bless you and continue to use you for you are a beaming light to all of us.
Love you,
AliceE.

I love the analogy. Now I want to use pencils instead of pens! How are you feeling?

I love that analogy...With Him, there is no doubt that everytime my pencil breaks, He is quick to re-sharpen me and be used again. I just pray that I may remain obedient to be used by His hand. Blessings to you and have a blessed week ahead.

What a fantastic analogy. As I've grown closer to God I feel that "newness" of life more each day. How many times the Bible says that God's mercy reaches the clouds and His mercy endures forever. What a beautiful promises.

This is a great way to look at each new day...
I like to start each day with the hope that my spirit will be filled with His graces to help me know what it is that I need to do to be the best me each day.

Like that pencil analogy! You have a gift with words...

Also glad to know that we share in common both journal writing and women's ministry directing. It is fun to find sisters who share common interests.

What are you and your ladies doing this summer? Have you had any great speakers or done any really good studies this year?

I'm always asking the Lord to give me fresh, new ideas for our ladies.

Sorry it took me so long to get back with you. We just had a wonderful event for our ladies with a woman named Laurie Cole from Houston, TX. She did an amazing job, and our ladies really enjoyed her.

Thanks for your encouragement on my blog!

Blessings,
Melanie

I like your analogy of the pencil of life. God gives us the pencil, but we have to choose what to write on the page...so true!
